Popular Hololive vtuber Akai Haato has debuted a new model and fans are wondering what she has in store for them.
Akai Haato debuted alongside Aki Rosenthal, Natsuiro Matsuri, Shirakami Fubuki, and Yozora Mel as Hololive JP’s first generation. The vtuber is unique because she has two personalities; the good-natured Akai Haato and the troublemaker alter-ego Haachama. This has made for interesting lore that fans have discussed in-depth to determine the connection between the two personalities.
In 2023, Akai Haato took a long break from her activities due to poor health but the vtuber returned strong. In 2024, she reached 1.5 million subscribers on her YouTube channel, making her the second member of her generation to reach that milestone. On December 6, the Hololive vtuber announced she would debut a new model, and fans have finally gotten a proper look at it.
On December 9, 2024, the Akai Haato debuted a new model in a YouTube livestream.
Akai Haato started off the stream by displaying all her past models so fans could see how far the vtuber has come in her journey. Once all the previous models were finished, she debuted her new look which has been dubbed the “spider queen” model by fans.
Haachama’s new model showcases her obsession with spiders and takes it to another level. Akai Haato has a huge spider headpiece she wears and a large spiderweb on her skirt with a spider crawling over her. Even the vtuber’s shoes have spiders on them.
The Spider Queen model comes in three different styles that were shown in the stream. Akai has pure white and pure black models. The black and white contrast displays the vtuber’s contrasting personalities. In addition, she has a black and white outfit, merging her two personalities.
The Hololive vtuber also occasionally wears eye patches. When she doesn’t have her eyepatches on, her eye color changes. Some are left confused seeing Akai debut a new model that looks like it would have been perfect for a Halloween-themed model in December.
Akai Haato was known for her horror series in 2021. The vtuber may be gearing up to bring them back soon with the new model. After all, this is her eighth 2D costume, and debuting spider-themed looks is now something she’s done on multiple occasions.
Fans are excited about the vtuber’s new model thinking it will help with her horror streams. While Akai already has an earsplitting scream, her new model will add an extra effect that fans will love.
