Ceres Fauna graduation announced, why is she leaving?

Fauna graduation from Hololive

Ceres Fauna just announced her graduation from Hololive, and fans are heartbroken.

In 2021, Ceres Fauna debuted as a part of the Hololive Council, the second generation of English talents. Alongside Tsukumo Sana, Ouro Kronii, Nanashi Mumei, and Hakos Baelz, Fauna stole the hearts of fans with her soft-spoken yet surprisingly talkative personality.

Fauna’s fans, dubbed Saplings, are some of the most dedicated fans in the Hololive fandom. Thanks to their support, Fauna is currently on the cusp of reaching one million subscribers. This made Fauna’s latest announcement a shock to her fans.

When will Ceres Fauna graduate from Hololive?

Ceres Fauna will cease all streaming activities, social media, and new merchandise with Hololive on January 3, 2025. Some dedicated fans saw hints of Fauna’s graduation weeks before. Her past life, LemonLeaf, uploaded multiple new videos in November 2024, prompting fans to speculate. Many vtubers have active alternate accounts, so her posts wouldn’t have raised red flags ordinarily. Takanashi Kiara and Mori Calliope also have semi-active alternate accounts, despite their regular Hololive schedules.

LemonLeaf’s videos are notable because she hasn’t posted anything since 2021. This was around the same time she began working at Hololive. With Fauna’s exit from the company, fans will likely follow the talent to her LemonLeaf persona.  As for why she chose to graduate, Fauna explained her reasons during a livestream.

Why did Ceres Fauna graduate from Hololive?

Fauna stated her creative goals differed from Hololive’s.  The vtuber agency has grown to incredible heights since its debut. The company now has divisions worldwide, dozens of talents, and boasted sold-out arenas in 2024 alone. Many talents have adapted to these changes well, such as Hoshimachi Suisei. However, Hololive’s current goals have changed radically from its inception. Talents who don’t necessarily want to pursue Hololive’s version of success choose to part ways amicably.

Amelia Watson and Minato Aqua left Hololive on good terms. Watson formally debuted a new form of graduation, wherein the door was open for future collaborations, should the company and talent consent. Cover clarified what this meant in a recent announcement.

The official announcement from Cover did not specify if Fauna took this option. The streamer only announced her graduation and did not clarify if she would continue being an affiliate. Fauna thanked her fans for everything and said she cherished her experiences with Hololive. The talent also clarified she still loved singing and performing for fans.

With Sakamata Chloe’s graduation announced just days before, Hololive fans are looking at a bittersweet Christmas season.
