First Stand 2026 kicked off with Bilibili Gaming (BLG) vs BNK FearX (BFX) and it went the full five games. The Chinese first seed and the Korean second seed traded blows until BLG finally came out on top. Here’s a breakdown of the match and what this result signals for the rest of the First Stand 2026 bracket.
Aside from the results which were anyone’s game, the LoL First Stand 2026 series went as planned.
For most of the series, BLG gained advantages with Bin and Knight dominating their lane opponents. At the same time, their jungler amplified these edges. On the other hand, BFX attempted to play through their bot lane and showed superior teamfighting.
Game one was Bilibili Gaming steamrolling the early game all across the map, starting with an early 1v1 first blood in the mid lane. A 15-minute ace meant that the rest of the game was but a victory lap.
Game two started similarly until BFX launched their bot lane show. Diable picked off kills in the bot lane, then FearX won fight after fight, ending with a pentakill for their ADC.
The third game was a bloodbath with BFX’s top side and Viper taking turns making mistakes. This was VicLa’s one great map as his micro in this game prevented BLG from converting a lead. In the end, BNK FearX put themselves at match point.
The LPL representative struck back with a game 4 stomp, starting with Xun securing a kill for both solo laners. Diable and Kellin kept fighting relentlessly, without being able to get a sizeable advantage. In the end, being the sole hope for BFX forced them to make mistakes, and nothing stood between BLG and victory.
Despite being a back-and-forth brawl, game 5 went exactly how the LPL wanted. BLG picked skirmishers and never stopped fighting. Most importantly, they never took the fights to the bot lane. Jungle, mid, top, all of the action happened in the upper half while Viper and Diable were left in a farming 1v1.
With their strongest player neutralized, BFX fell further and further behind and BLG secured the first win at First Stand.

After this match, BLG will face the winner of G2 Esports vs Team Secret Whales on Wednesday for the first spot in the Knockout stage. As for BFX, they will go up against the loser of that match and can still qualify by winning both of their remaining matches. Both of them will be favorites in their respective games.
With how tightly matched the two First Stand 2026 teams were, this raises questions about BLG’s chances against Gen.G. JD Gaming’s first match also looks particularly grim.
Both teams have shown enough cracks that their potential rematch could go either way. At the same time, they have powerful enough strengths that they should overpower G2.
The LEC champion always does better against LCK opponents than LPL ones, and BLG should be no exception.
However, BFX’s bot lane will be a massive issue for G2, and they will cleanly match Europe on teamfights.
