Esports production company and tournament organiser BLAST has announced that British luxury brand Thomas Lyte has designed and crafted the trophy and medals for the upcoming 2025 Fortnite Global Championship.
The FNCS Global Championship is the culmination of the competitive Fortnite season, set to take place September 6-7 at the LDLC Arena in Lyon, France. The event will have a total of 33 teams, and a prize pool of over $2m, out of which $450,000 will go to the eventual winning trio. The winners will also raise the new trophy, co-created by BLAST, Epic Games and Thomas Lyte.
Thomas Lyte is one of the most prominent names in jewelery in the UK and globally. The brand, founded in 2007, is known for restoring and taking care of some of the most iconic trophies in sports, such as the FA Community Shield and the FA Cup. The company has also created the Women’s FA Cup Trophy and is interestingly an official silverware supplier to the British Crown.
In esports, Thomas Lyte has quite a portfolio: The company has designed the latest iteration of the Summoner’s Cup, the trophy for the League of Legends World Championship, as well as the trophies for the LEC, the eChampions League, and the 2024 Esports World Cup Club Championship trophy. The company has also worked with BLAST before, creating the trophy and medals for the RLCS.
Kevin Baker, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Thomas Lyte, said:
“At Thomas Lyte we are thrilled to bring our expertise and craftsmanship to the global Fortnite community. This continuation of a fantastic partnership with BLAST and FNCS reflects our shared belief that excellence in competition deserves to be celebrated with silverware of the highest calibre, supporting the continued rise of esports on the world stage.”
