Looking to learn who’s the favoured team heading into the BLAST Slam VI Finals? Read on.
Team Liquid have had an incredible tournament at BLAST Slam VI, narrowly missing out on direct playoff seeding on their Neustadtl rating with their 7-4 record in Group Stage. Undeterred, they banished the upstart GamerLegion in a convincing 2-0 and found themselves in a fight for their lives against Team Falcons in the Quarterfinals. Arguably, it would have been easy to count out Team Liquid, but a convincing 3-2 victory secured their spot in the playoffs where they blew out OG 3-0. Here’s their keys to success:
Seeing NAVI in a Dota 2 finals in 2026 is something we would have never predicted, but were seeing it now. The team topped the table in the group stage, earning the bye. But observers and pundits suggested that all the time and Dota they missed with the bye could hurt them. Instead, the team punished a strong Yandex team with a dramatic 3-2 victory, and advanced to the finals. Their strength? A mix of youth and veteran experience coupled with a really talented coach – former Gaimin strategist Aske “Cy-” Larsen.
Ultimately, when it comes down to it, we’re picking Team Liquid for the winners of BLAST Slam VI. While NAVI have performed well, they were pushed to the limit by Team Yandex just a few hours ago. Better rested, and in a form we usually see reserved for PGL Wallachia – the tournament Team Liquid can’t help but win – we think this is a lock for TL.
It had been a shaky rebuild for Team Liquid, fitting in the former Gaimin duo, but with Michał “Nisha” Jankowski and Michael “miCKe” Vu performing at their peak level so early in the season it’s hard to see another result. We think NAVI’s hope comes in the form of super late-game Dota. The game has always been a game of timings, and if NAVI can draft into late-game hyper carries, perhaps they can out perform Liquid. But head-to-head, in lanes, we think Team Liquid has the advantage.
