Ubisoft has unveiled the format for the upcoming BLAST R6 Season, outlining its 2026 schedule and format for Rainbow 6 Siege Esports. The move comes as tournament organizer BLAST and Ubisoft renewed their partnership for 2026.
From April, R6 esports will return, with a brand-new Season Kickoff event, and three Majors incorporating the huge Six Invitational 2027 taking place in Brazil. Here’s the breakdown.

As mentioned, tournament organizer BLAST and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege creator and publisher Ubisoft renewed their partnership for R6 esports just recently, announcing the renewal by release on Feb. 14.
With that renewal, three major Rainbow Six betting events were planned to take place across the next 12 months, with the Salt Lake City R6 Major, the Japan R6 Major, and finally, the Six Invitational 2027 Brazil in February next year.
With the Feb. 15 announcement, we now know that the Esports World Cup will also play a major part in the season, although presumably not organized by BLAST directly (that tournament is operated by the ESL FACEIT Group). This event will see the winner score a guaranteed spot at the Six Invitational.

Perhaps most importantly is the new Season Kickoff regional, which starts in April. During this opening event, teams will be able to earn up to 240 SI points (Six Invitational). A big headstart for the teams lucky enough to grab them.
This all leads into the season’s unified format, with teams able to earn SI points for each event, and carry them forward towards qualification later in the season. The top 14 teams by SI Points at the end of the season, the winner of each Major, the winner of EWC, and the winner of each of the 5 Regional LCQs will all qualify for the Six Invitational 2027.

While nothing hugely revolutionary, what’s great about this format is the sense of momentum. Teams will have opportunities not just at Majors, but during both Stage 01 and Stage 02, to earn their place at the Six Invitational 2027.
