The BLAST Austin Major playoffs bracket is officially locked in and players can set their pick’ems for a chance to get more souvenir packages.
The group stages for the Austin Major were an absolute mess, at least for those who actually set their pick’ems. Teams like Legacy, Lynn Vision Gaming, and Nemiga Gaming scored key upsets, while Team Falcons, Heroic, and Complexity Gaming all fell well short of expectations.
With best-of-ones now gone, things should be a bit easier for Counter-Strike fans who are plugged into the esports scene. Here are the best playoffs pick’ems for the BLAST Austin Major.
Team Vitality should be locked in as your pick to win the BLAST Austin Major, with the team overcoming FaZe Clan in the finals. Here’s the breakdown of who to pick:
Vitality being locked in as the winner shouldn’t be a surprise. The team entered as the favorite to win the BLAST Austin Major and looked the part in the group stage, despite enduring a shocking upset loss from Legacy. It has won every tournament it has competed in so far in 2025, and will likely continue that stretch here. Past that, things are tough to call on a match-by-match basis, but here’s a breakdown of each stage.
The bracket for the BLAST Austin Major playoffs is extremely lopsided, with arguably the four best teams put on the same side. That makes it tough to pick each individual matchup, with the exception of probable winner Vitality.
Furia made some late changes to its roster heading into the major and those seem to have paid off. The team went 3-1 in Stage 2 and 3-0 in Stage 3 against credible opponents including The MongolZ, Aurora Gaming, and Virtus.pro. That’s enough to get them the nod against Pain Gaming, a team that has had a similar journey but doesn’t have the same numbers to show for it.
MOUZ vs Team Spirit and FaZe Clan vs The MongolZ are both coinflip matches.
MOUZ-Spirit is a match fans have seen twice in 2025, with MOUZ coming out on top against Spirit. MOUZ has had the overall better results in 2025 and should get the nod despite struggling to some degree in Stage 3.
FaZe Clan seems to have hit its stride with Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyljev. While the team is inconsistent, it came out on top of a group stage match against The MongolZ. While that’s no guarantee of victory, FaZe looks to be improving on a daily basis.
And once again, Vitality should be given the nod against any opponent. NaVi has looked good in Austin, but not good enough to entertain the idea of them beating Vitality in a best-of-three.
Vitality vs MOUZ has been a common sight in 2025, with the teams playing six times. Vitality has won all six of those matches. If they come together in Austin, Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut and company will almost certainly make it seven.
Whether The MongolZ or FaZe Clan is the pick in the quarterfinals, they should be expected to beat the winner of Pain Gaming vs Furia. Brazilian Counter-Strike made an impressive showing in the BLAST Austin Major group stages, even with teams like MIBR and Imperial falling short. Despite that, The MongolZ are too good to pick against unless they’re playing bona fide elites, while FaZe Clan’s Stage 3 showing was enough to buy into.
As repeatedly stated, Vitality is extremely good and shouldn’t be picked against. The team has lost just one series, a best-of-one, since February. The only real threats to beat them. MOUZ and Spirit, are on their side of the bracket.
Whoever makes it to the finals, Vitality is going to be an overwhelming favorite to win. And they should be.
