These are the best LoL players of all time, from all around the world

T1 vs Gen.G

League of Legends has a long-standing history of professional play around the world, but which pro players have done enough to warrant being considered the best LoL players of all time?

It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that League of Legends is the most popular MOBA of all time, standing alongside giants like Dota 2 and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. The game’s competitive scene continues to thrive with multiple large-scale international tournaments each year, and new talents rise up every year from the game’s separate competitive regions.

Many League of Legends players have tried their hand at competing at the professional level. However, only a few of them have managed to make their names known through their sheer knowledge and skill in the game. These are the those few, the best League of Legends players of all time.

Faker

Faker T1

T1

It’s impossible to talk about the best LoL players of all time and not immediately mention The Unkillable Demon King himself, Faker. Establishing his skills in the game as a dominant solo queue player, Faker was pulled out of solo queue by T1 and has stuck with the team ever since.

This player has seen it all, winning multiple LCK, MSI, and World Championship titles and being considered one of the most prominent esports figures of all time. Developer Riot Games has even recognized Faker’s influence and skill in the game through various in-game skins and making him the first Hall of Legends inductee.

Despite having begun his professional career in 2013, Faker continues to dominate both the LCK and international-level tournaments. With some of his mid-lane plays with champions like LeBlanc, Ahri, and Zed being cemented in League of Legends history, every pro LoL player looks up to Faker as someone who has climbed to the very top of the scene.

Uzi

Uzi

Riot Games

Former Chinese pro Uzi began his career in 2012 and proceeded to dominate the bottom lane for over 10 years. Widely considered the best ADC player of all time, Uzi led multiple teams to victory in the highest levels of League of Legends in the LPL and beyond.

While Uzi only saw one big international win at the 2018 Mid-Season Invitational, he was crowned MVP in the finals and his dominance of the bottom lane made waves around the world. Every team had to scramble to play around him, and his precise and aggressive playing style ensured he remained a pillar that his team could rely on.

Uzi went on to be crowned as the second inductee in the League of Legends Hall of Legends, despite not having a single World Championship title under his belt. While Uzi has since retired from professional play, his mark in the gaming world is inarguable.

Perkz

Perkz

Red Bull

Some may argue that the LCK and LPL have boasted flatly better players than the world’s other regions, but Perkz stands as proof to the contrary. Being regarded as one of the best Western players in League of Legends history, Perkz kicked off his career in 2014 with GSI Gaming before eventually moving to what is known as G2 Esports today.

Perkz bounced around the mid and bottom lanes and led G2 to winning the 2019 MSI tournament and a World Championship finals appearance. Perkz may have retired, but he’s still known for the flexibility and insane clutch plays that won him multiple LEC titles with G2. The player eventually also saw a successful 2021 with Cloud9, where he continued playing well in the LCS.

Mata

Support players don’t always stand out. Regardless of how much effort they put in, most fans usually only see the players who get the kills, as opposed to those who make those plays happen to begin with. Mata is one of the exceptions to this rule. Considered by many to be the best support player in all of League of Legends, Mata began his professional career in 2013 and continued to jump between various teams throughout his time with the game.

The highlight of Mata’s career is definitely winning the 2014 World Championship with Samsung White. The player is still the only support to be awarded MVP at the World Championship. This achievement showcases his long-standing impact on how fans sees the role.

Mata’s ability to read the enemy team and ensure his squad would keep their eyes on the prize at all times is still considered to be the best among players to compete at the pro level. This is further explains Mata eventually retiring as a player and opting to join T1 as the team’s coach, guiding the next generation of professionals.

Ruler

The marksman role has arguably seen the most change out of any role in League of Legends. While some believe that ADC champions are too squishy now, Ruler stands as one of the few players who manages to dominate opponents and prove that an ADC can still carry. Getting a World Championship win under his belt just a year after he started his pro LoL career, Ruler quickly made his mark as one of the most talented newcomers to the scene.

Ruler played for Stadust and Samsung Galaxy before eventually settling in with Gen.G, where he won an LCK title and has made four Worlds appearances. With two MSI championships and two LPL titles also to his name, Ruler continues to make waves with Gen.G. In 2025 alone, the player led Gen.G to winning MSI and the Esports World Cup consecutively, while breaking the record for most series won in a row by winning 27 matches straight.

While Ruler is one of the most reliable ADC players in the laning phase, that isn’t the only reason so many players would want him on their team. Ruler’s team-fight presence is among the best in the world, and just having the player around when starting a fight can be enough to make the enemy want to back out.

ShowMaker

Being the fastest player to hit 1,000 kills in the LCK after his debut, ShowMaker is considered one of the strongest mid laners in the game. With multiple LCK titles under his belt as well as the 2020 World Championship, ShowMaker is known for his impressive versatility. He can play any sort of champion, from mage to assassin, while ensuring that he makes his presence felt in every match.

With an extremely calm and calculated playing style that makes any opposing laner sweat, ShowMaker is constantly compared to Faker for being among the hardest mid players to punish. ShowMaker’s legacy as one of the best and most adaptable mid-laners is cemented, as is his status as one of the best LoL players of all time.

Zeus

Top laners sometimes have it hard in League, in large part thanks to an ever-changing meta that hits this role the hardest. But Zeus has made an undeniable impact in the LoL world, despite still being relatively new to the scene. Best known for being part of T1’s ZOFGK roster, Zeus dominated the top lane in a way that was rarely seen before.

With his usual path of controlling the top lane and then transitioning himself into an unstoppable carry during team fights, Zeus was a pivotal part of T1 winning the Worlds Championship in 2023 and 2024. Many fans saw him as a generational talent who would continue to run the top lane for T1 for years to come.

While Zeus eventually parted with T1, he joined Hanwha Life Esports and instantly helped that team win the 2025 First Stand tournament. With much more room still to grow and considering the impact he has already had in the top lane meta, it makes sense that Zeus is still considered by many to already be the best top laner of all time.

Chovy

Faker may have paved the path for mid laners, but many would agree that Chovy has walked the path better than even Faker ever could. While he doesn’t have the same mainstream recognition as T1’s Unkillable Demon King, Chovy stands as one of the few players who could rival, and even surpass, Faker’s legacy.

With Faker and Chovy constantly butting heads in every match that sees T1 face Gen.G, Chovy eventually managed to pass Faker in the eyes of many in 2025. Winning the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational and the Esports World Cup back-to-back, the player was a key part of Gen.G winning a record 27 matches in a row.

With multiple LCK and MSI titles under his belt, Chovy has reached the pinnacle of the League world. In 2025, Chovy was named Esports Athlete of the Year at the Game Awards.

Deft

Deft

Deft is one of the most respected players in League of Legends, primarily thanks to his career’s great longevity and his vaunted mechanics. He’s one player who really took the time to really perfect his craft, and that hard work is reflected in every game he has played since his debut in 2013.

The high point of Deft’s career came almost a decade after he first started playing professionally, when he won the 2022 World Championship title. As one of the few ADCs with the mechanical skills to win in any game state, the many examples of Deft dominating enemy teams in the late game still resonate with fans.

Outside of his excellent in-game skills, the player is also loved by many for his personality. With the leadership needed to take teams to victory in the LCK and LPL, and at both MSI and Worlds, Deft’s successful approach to the ADC role, despite his occasional setbacks, serves as inspiration for many.

Caps

Caps is easily one of the best-known European League of Legends players, and it’s no surprise why. The player has led Fnatic and G2 Esports to claim multiple LEC titles, reach back-to-back Worlds finals in 2018 and 2019, and even win MSI in 2019 with G2. While his words sometimes edge into the realm of overconfidence, he has repeatedly shown that he has the skills to back up all of his talk.

The Danish player has an aggressive playing style and the versatility needed to catch any opponent by surprise. In particular, his imaginative approach to the mid lane has earned him the nickname Baby Faker, something he enjoys justifying with his play. Many believe he’s the best chance Europe has ever had to challenge the long-standing dominance of Korea and China on the game’s global stage. Even if he doesn’t manage it during his career, his play has already proven him to be one of the best LoL players of all time.
