League of Legends patch 25.20 just launched, and while there have been many nerfs to fan favourite champions, Jinx remains untouched. Jinx is, at the moment, one of the best ADCs in League of Legends, and the Arcane series star brings the firepower to each match. Based on this, Jinx is worthy of being an S+ champion according to U.GG. There’s a very high chance in 25.20 that we will still see Jinx dominating Summoners’ Rift in League of Legends. And with every strong champion, there needs to be some counters. Let’s see which are the best Jinx counters in LoL!

Before we get into the five best counters to Jinx in League of Legends, we need to demonstrate the best tips and tricks to defeating her in lane. This guide will give you the tools you need to take down one of Arcane’s biggest stars.

Firstly, let’s start with laning. Jinx is a hyper-carry, which means when the game goes late, that is when she thrives the most. With Jinx’s Get Excited passive, fights that go the distance will often end in her favour as she gets to consistently apply damage from afar.

That’s why in lane, you need to pick an aggressive bottom lane combo to stop the snowball from starting, or at the very least, delay it. If you can get a bottom lane like Lucian + Nami, or Caitlyn + Morgana/Lux, you’re off to the races. These bottom lanes can apply consistent poke, which is where Jinx is most vulnerable. You need to be the aggressor with poke from the ADC and Support.

Positioning as an ADC can decide a game; if you’re not safe, the enemy will one-shot you but if you can do damage from a safe distance, the fight is won. This is why you need to pick aggressive champions that can punish Jinx’s lack of mobility. Jinx players would fear any champion that can set her up for a Yasuo ult, so for example, Malphite, Gragas, Sion, etc. These are the types of champions that prey on the mispositioning of ADCs.

Ashe also has one of the biggest auto-attack ranges in the bottom lane, meaning any time Jinx walks up to the wave, she is going to receive damage from Ashe. Furthermore, Ashe’s auto attacks slow, essentially pacifying Jinx’s passive ability, plus punish her lack of mobility even more severely.

Lastly, Ashe’s Enchanted Crystal Arrow forces Jinx players to take Cleanse to negate the ultimate effect. Ideally, Jinx players would love to take a more aggressive Summoner Spell like Barrier or Heal to extend the battles in the bottom lane, but with Ashe, they are forced to go defensive.

Draven

If you’re looking for the best pound-for-pound laner to destroy Jinx in League of Legends, look no further than Draven. Jinx needs time to scale, and this is where Draven has the edge over her. His early Q damage is enough to shove Jinx out of the lane. Therefore, pair him with a solid engage support like an Alistar, Leona, or Nautilus, and her threat level can go from high to virtually non-existent. If Draven gets an early kill, he will be ahead of Jinx for the rest of the game (provided you don’t int and feed her).

Lucian

Like Draven, Lucian is a solid lane bully to shove Jinx out of the lane. As mentioned above, Jinx needs time to scale, but this doesn’t mean she’s a pushover in the early game. Lucian has a couple of ways to counter Jinx. Firstly, his passive allows him to consistently poke Jinx without taking much damage in return, and secondly, his dash can bypass Chompers, leaving one of her hard CC abilities ineffective.

Pair Lucian with enchanters such as Nami or Milio, whichever one you prefer the most. Both of these help Lucian poke from a distance while keeping his health bar topped up.

Caitlyn

Like the other best counters to Jinx in LoL, Caitlyn is probably the best ADC on this list from an overall perspective. Not only is she a lane bully, but has more than enough in the tank to take Jinx down in the late game with excellent scaling of her own. In the lane, however, Caitlyn is superior to Jinx in almost every metric. Her headshot passive deals tons of damage, meaning whenever Jinx tries to farm, Caitlyn is right there to take a considerable chunk of her health.

Secondly, Caitlyn’s traps can be used to control and zone Jinx off of the waves, meaning she will miss valuable CS, and delay the scaling process.

Samira

Samira is one of the best Jinx counters in LoL for a couple of reasons. Unlike the other champions on this list, Samira is the only champion who has to fight in close proximity to Jinx. This works to her advantage, however, because Jinx needs to fight from a distance with her ranged Q and W. Samira can dash to Jinx and start to unleash quick bursts with her passive, which is an excellent gap closer. She is the best champion on this list for dealing with her immobility.

Finally, she pairs well with engage Supports such as Nautilus, or even a Braum, who can chain his passive with Samira’s quick auto attacks to stun Jinx in place. The key is to gap close, so any champion that can close the distance will help greatly in taking down Jinx. She needs a couple of items to get online, but Samira does not have that problem.
