Jhin is one of the best ADCs in League of Legends, and countering him is no easy task. On the current patch, the four-shot demon ranks very highly amongst the other champions in his role. And with engage supports being relevant in the current meta, there is no better place for Jhin to thrive.
But if you were to come up against this stunning performer, who are the best champions to use? Let’s take a look at the best Jhin counters to pick in most LoL matches!
To counter Jhin in League of Legends, you are going to need champions that can punish his lack of mobility. Because if you can move quicker than he can, he will have a tough time landing his W, which stuns you if you are marked by the passive. It’s not just the ADCs that need to have high mobility; the supports need it as well.
Champions such as Nautilus, Leona, Neeko, etc, are all great at getting onto Jhin in the blink of an eye. And on top of that, engage supports will force Jhin to take the Cleanse summoner spell or suffer the consequences. Let’s now take a look at the five champions that can stop Jhin in his tracks.

Although Jhin does have deceptively high damage in the early game with his four-shot passive, Draven is one of the few ADCs that can outskirmish him. With the conqueror rune active and his spinning axes, Draven puts out consistent damage that Jhin is not able to handle. Whenever Jhin is looking for his stun, Draven can throw out his E, which will displace Jhin.
On top of that, Draven works well with engage supports such as Nautilus and Leona, who can gap close quickly and stun Jhin down. And with Jhin’s auto attacks only being four shots, plus a reload timer, it makes it very hard for Jhin to counter the early onslaught that Draven and an engage support can bring. It’s not just the early game that Draven has the edge. When he has sustained health through healing items, along with crit, he’s going to slice through Jhin like a hot knife to butter.

The theme of this best Jhin counters list is gap closing, because this is when Jhin is at his weakest in League of Legends. Hence why Samira is one of the best counters to Jhin out of the ADC pool in LoL. Samira has to fight up close; she has no other choice, really. Her auto-attack range is low, and if she gets close enough, her melee form activates. Playing as Samira means you need to be aggressive; she isn’t a champion that thrives on sitting back and scaling.
Jhin players need to fight from a distance; there isn’t an advantage to playing up close. On top of that, they need to time when they do an auto attack, since they have only four shots and the last one deals the most damage. One of the cool things about Samira, at least from a Samira player perspective, is that she can dodge an incoming attack, which leaves Jhin next to useless in the lane against her. She can counter his stun and then go all-in as Jhin is out of offensive abilities to offer.

Out of all the champions on this list, Lucian has the best mobility of the five, and that is why he is one of the best lane counters to Jhin. Lucian players can take advantage of the lack of mobility on the side of Jhin with Lucian’s dash, which allows him to dodge Jhin’s stun ability.
Piercing Light, Lucian’s Q, does a good amount of damage in the early game. This ability, on top of his passive which fires two extra auto attacks each time an ability is used, is more poke than Jhin can retaliate with, making him a pain to go against in the lane. Pair this with another poke or utility support such as Nami, and Jhin is completely countered in the bottom lane.

Kai’Sa is one of the best ADCs in League of Legends right now, if not the best. She has incredible scaling and mobility, with Jhin only having the former. And even if Jhin does scale well, Kai’Sa scales better. In an isolated matchup, she will burst Jhin down before he can even fire his fourth shot.
Like the other champions on this list, Kai’Sa has the advantage in her mobility. Supercharge, Kai’Sa’s E ability, adds extra movement and attack speed, allowing her to easily dodge Jhin’s stun. If you really want to be petty, you can take cleanse into this match-up and just negate his stun altogether, because once that is down, his offensive capabilities become severely weakened.

Tristana is a jack of all trades when it comes to ADCs in the bottom lane. She has amazing scaling, insane tower taking capabilities, and has the longest auto attack range of any champion in the lane. And to make matters worse for Jhin, this range scales as the game progresses. And while Jhin loves to fight from a distance, Tristana also has a gap closer with her Rocket Jump.
In the early game, Tristana’s level two power spike gives her a pretty significant advantage, as comboing Rocket Jump plus Explosive Charge, Tristana’s E, can shred through Jhin’s health bar, especially if Tristana can reach level two first. On top of that, if Jhin uses his ultimate, Tristana can either Rocket Jump away or use her own ultimate, which will knock champions away. If we can recommend an extremely safe ADC to use against Jhin, we would recommend starting with Tristana.
