GTA VI is sure to be one of the most important games this year. But will it be ‘Game of the Year’? 41% of Kalshi predictors believe that it will be. But are they onto something?
To specify, this isn’t just any game of the year award. This resolves only if GTA VI is named the Game of the Year at the 2026 Game Awards in December 2026. As gaming experts, we think that GTA VI actually has a much smaller shot of being the Game of the Year than other titles. For one, it will be released late into the voting, or not be on the ballot at all, with its November 2026 release.
Beyond that, this is an award largely voted by in-industry critics, and already has some big competition in terms of 2026 releases (we’re looking at you Mewgenics). This market is in a bad spot right now, and will likely shift as more games are released. Right now, we’d maybe look at an early position on Slay the Spire 2 or Mewgenics.
Perhaps the most hotly contested market for GTA VI, we’re thinking the release date is one of the best investment opportunities around.

Price is another huge market for GTA VI predictions. Widely hailed as the first $100 game on announcement, current sentiment has shifted, and now more conservative estimates put it at around $70 on release.

Perhaps the most spread of all markets, the GTA VI radio selection has the potential to be massive.
GTA radio soundtracks are often cultural indicators of the era when released. But this market is also wide open for those with more knowledge of music and trends than the average gaming audience.
Lets be honest: Gamers aren’t always the most culturally switched on, especially to music (we’ve seen the Spotify Wrapped posts filled with video game soundtracks…). So if you’re prepared to do the research, you could potentially do well in this smaller, but lucrative market.
This is likely a slam dunk for predictors, with the “no” market heavily in the lead with 67%. Rockstar has publicly stated it won’t begin marketing for the game before “Summer 2026” but some still think an early trailer could drop.
