A good coach is one of the most important pieces when putting together one of the best CS2 teams. They create strategies and help their team members perform at their best as often as possible.
While we do not exactly know what each coach does behind the scenes, it’s clear that their contributions have a tremendous impact on their team’s success.
That said, here’s our best CS2 coaches ranking, based on recent results and how much potential they can extract from their rosters.
| Ranking | Player | Team | Country |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam | Vitality | 🇫🇷 France |
| 2 | Sid “sidde” Macedo | FURIA | 🇧🇷 Brazil |
| 3 | Dastan “dastan” Akbayev | PARIVISION | 🇰🇿 Kazakhstan |
| 4 | Erdenedalai “maaRaa” Bayanbat | The MongolZ | 🇲🇳 Mongolia |
| 5 | Andrey “B1ad3” Gorodenskiy | NAVI | 🇺🇦 Ukraine |
| 6 | Danny “zonic” Sorensen | Falcons | 🇩🇰 Denmark |
| 7 | Dennis “sycrone” Nielsen | MOUZ | 🇩🇰 Denmark |
| 8 | Sergey “hally” Shavaev | Spirit | 🇷🇺 Russia |
| 9 | Eetu “sAw” Saha | G2 | 🇫🇮 Finland |
| 10 | Filip “NEO” Kubski | FaZe Clan | 🇵🇱 Poland |

NEO has been the coach of FaZe for over two years. Since his addition, the international squad has lifted several trophies, but also struggled to find any consistency in the long run.
Recent results don’t point to NEO deserving a spot on our list, but FaZe’s StarLadder Budapest Major run is enough to get him over the line.
However, if FaZe don’t find their footing in upcoming CS2 events, he might be one of the first names on the chopping block.

sAw was selected by G2 to lead their roster rebuild, following the departures of Nikola “NiKo” Kovac and Ilya “m0NESY Osipov to Falcons last year.
The Finn has done a decent job so far, working together with new IGL Nemanja “huNter-” Kovac, claiming one title thus far at BLAST Open London 2025.
He could be the reason G2 elevate their level this year and join the group of CS2 betting favorites heading into each tier one tournament.

hally’s contribution to Spirit’s results is difficult to assess. While they did lift the IEM Cologne trophy in 2025, teamplay and strategic depth were not among their strengths during that run.
The main driving factor behind Spirit’s success is, of course, Danil “donk” Kryshkovets, one of the best CS2 players in the world.
That said, some credit has to be attributed to hally, so he slots in perfectly in eighth place on our best CS2 coaches list.

sycrone has been a big presence in MOUZ for nearly 5 years. Credit: © PGL
sycrone is one of the youngest coaches on our list at only 29 years of age. The Dane has built a strong relationship with his players, having worked under the MOUZ organization since mid-2021.
While MOUZ haven’t lifted a trophy in a while, they consistently achieve high placings and can beat anyone on their day, with team play being one of their main strengths.
With that in mind, it’s safe to assume that sycrone knows what he is doing tactics-wise.

zonic is yet to find the desired success with Falcons. Credit: © PGL
zonic is obviously one of, if not the best, Counter-Strike coach of all time, but his recent press hasn’t been overwhelmingly positive. Fans are expecting more of Falcons, given the level of talent they have on their roster.
Disregarding the expectations, zonic is doing a fairly decent job. Falcons are one of the best teams in the world, consistently fighting for trophies in big event Grand Finals.
Although it would be great if they could actually lift one soon.

B1ad3 is always reading his notes. Credit: © BLAST Premier
B1ad3 is often considered by fans and peers as the biggest mastermind in all of CS, and rightfully so. His tactics and preparation-heavy approach have worked tremendously in the past, most recently in 2024, when NAVI were the team of the year.
Even though the past year’s results haven’t been anything to shout about, NAVI is always a gatekeeper team, thanks to B1ad3’s meticulous system.
When everything clicks again, they could soar up the rankings very quickly.

There are not enough superlatives to describe how good a job maaRaa has done coaching The MongolZ in recent years. Winning EWC and playing in the Major Grand Final with a bunch of teenagers from Mongolia is an unbelievable feat.
Even in the absence of The MongolZ’s best player, Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold, they remain a consistent playoff team, capable of besting the world’s elite.

dastan and Dzhami “Jame” Ali have become a mystical coach + in-game leader duo, capable of bringing up any unknown group of youngsters into the CS2 tier one space. This time it’s with PARIVISION.
They already claimed victory at a big event and show no signs of stopping. It would be great if they could keep this level up and challenge the likes of Vitality, FURIA, and Falcons on a consistent basis.

FURIA’s second half of 2025 was nothing short of exceptional, and sidde must have had a part in that. While he is the youngest and probably least known coach on our list, his place is more than deserving.
Let’s just hope that FURIA continue to perform in 2026, and their run of success doesn’t turn out to be just a flash in the pan.

With the year Vitality had in 2025, there was no one else who could have topped our best CS2 coaches list other than XTQZZZ. The Frenchman was Dan “apEX” Madesclaire’s right-hand man, helping his team to two Major trophies and several other titles.
Coming into 2026, Vitality have the CS2 odds on their side as favorites in every event they attend. If this year Vitality show a similar level of domination, XTQZZZ will become a serious candidate in the GOAT coach conversation.
