Aurora have easily been the biggest surprise of the event. The squad has been struggling to find their footing since importing two Southeast Asian players and going international. However, the team’s mid-laner Mikoto has been facing visa issues, forcing the team to call in Lorenof as a stand-in.
Mikoto’s absence might have been a blessing in disguise, as with Lorenof, Aurora went on a 31 undefeated streak and have been playing some of their best Dota yet. The Eastern European squad did not drop a single series in the first group stage.
Their momentum eventually hit a wall when Team Liquid ended their run in the second group stage, and Aurora followed that loss with two more defeats, leading to a losing streak of 3. Still, thanks to their impressive performances earlier in the event, they secured a spot in the top four. That being said, it really seems like Aurora have slowed down, and opponents seem to have figured out their style.

On the other side, we have Xtreme Gaming, a team that quietly snuck into the playoffs. The Chinese squad dropped matches to Team Liquid and Tundra Esports, which are two teams that are almost undefeated in the second group stage – nothing to be ashamed of. Outside of those matches, Xtreme Gaming took care of their opposition without much hassle, including a win over Aurora, too.
We can credit some of their success around Tinker, a hero they have a 100% win rate on at this event (3-0). Not to mention, NothingToSay is one of the best Tinker players in the world. Teams are definitely going head into matches with that hero in mind.
All things considered, this is a clash between two teams that not many expected would make it to the top four. Both teams have played some of their best Dota in the last three months, and it’s going to be an exciting match.
Aurora come into the series as slight Dota 2 betting favorites, but I believe Xtreme Gaming is a very underrated pick.
The 31 undefeated streak aside, Xtreme Gaming’s form has looked much better in the past four days. The Chinese squad also took down Aurora 2-1 in the second group stage just a few days ago.

This feels like a 50-50 match, but the odds are more valuable on Xtreme Gaming’s side, so there’s value in backing the Chinese squad with a smaller stake. Alternatively, both sides have displayed similar levels of skill, so going with Over 2.5 maps could also be the play.
