Jessica “asianbunnyx” Ly has just received her 11th ban on Twitch, leaving her fans and followers to question what the ban was for and when she’ll be back.
Twitch is home to many kinds of streamers, be it high-energy gamers such as Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp or IRL variety entertainers such as Kai Cenat. One sometimes controversial group of streamers are those who most inhabit the Just Chatting and Pool categories, using their streams to funnel fans towards other outlets.
One well-known streamer in this particular niche is asianbunnyx, and while her 11th ban isn’t a major surprise, it still has her fans wondering what happened and when she’ll be back.
To highlight the streamer and her community’s lack of concern for the Twitch ban, asianbunnyx took to social media with a casual advertisement that included news of the suspension. asianbunnyx’s 11th ban was reportedly similar in nature to many of her previous incidents. Based on her latest VODs, she wore very revealing outfits while “looking for a husband.” There was also a “bikini timer” on display to further incentivize her viewers.
Twitch has detailed rules on what amount of skin a streamer can show, especially in particularly NSFW contexts. asianbunnyx likely pushed Twitch’s TOS too far, which may have led to users reporting her to admins and moderators. Twitch has not given the exact reason for the ban, but given her history and the lack of anything exceptional having happened, it’s likely just down to the revealing nature of her outfits on stream.
Unfazed, asianbunnyx announced the ban on social media alongside an advertisement for her OnlyFans. She promised new subscribers a free video, likely of herself in a lewd context. Although never directly stated, her attitude left viewers feeling certain that she would return soon.
Her ban history does give the claim of a near return some merit. Despite her 11 bans, the longest of these lasted only nine days. Almost every year in the 2020s, asianbunnyx has received a ban for breaking Twitch’s terms of service regarding NSFW content. Each time, her ban rarely lasted more than a few days. These have led to accusations of favoritism among critics.
asianbunnyx has over a million followers on Twitch, and the response from fans likely means this latest ban has done nothing to stop her momentum.
Many viewers still believe the enforcement of bans on NSFW content is inconsistent on Twitch. Although asianbunnyx has undoubtedly streamed herself with the intention of funneling viewers toward OnlyFans, many wonder why other streamers don’t get as many chances to get unbanned.
Vtubers have been hit particularly hard on Twitch by the updated guidelines, despite depicting fictional models. Figures such as Zentreya have claimed Twitch is biased towards them, specifically for their sexualized outfits. There were also the strange limits on vtuber clothing that don’t apply to VRChat due to a loophole.
Meanwhile, smaller streamers who remain banned for vague reasons feel it unfair that figures such as asianbunnyx get unbanned much more quickly and frequently.
