Arteezy is taking a break from Dota 2, here’s what he plans to do

Legendary Dota 2 player Artour “Arteezy” Babaev is taking a break from Dota 2, and he has come up with a fun idea to occupy his time.

Shopify Rebellion’s hard carry Arteezy has a storied history in Dota 2, but his recent performances have raised questions. Following a setback at the Riyahd Masters, the team’s underwhelming display at the TI13 NA qualifiers, losing to nouns for the second time in the same month, has prompted concerns. Now, it seems Arteezy is exploring his options outside of professional Dota 2. a whole different area, which he’s well familiar with.

In a new post on X, the Canadian player revealed that he’s taking a casual break from Dota 2. During his free time, Arteezy is planning to take up streaming Elden Ring.

Arteezy announces Dota 2 break

Why is Arteezy taking a break from Dota 2?

Arteezy is taking a break from Dota 2 to enjoy Elden Ring, a game that has been trending on Twitch since the release of Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

The Elden Ring DLC has captured the attention of many popular streamers, who have been grinding hard to beat it. The game has been streamed by top creators, including Kai Cenat, Rachel “Valkyrae” Hofstetter, and Asmongold, who quit it early on, claiming it was too hard. Now, it seems Arteezy wants to jump on the Elden Ring bandwagon to reinitiate his streaming career. However, not all fans are pleased with his seemingly “casual break.”

Some fans of the Dota 2 pro are concerned that he may eventually step away from competitive play in favor of streaming. This is likely because of the current slump and loss at the TI qualifiers, which will be the first time he’ll skip the major event in almost a decade. Arteezy used to stream on Twitch, most recently grinding in public during 2021. He’d occasionally average 16,000 viewers. Despite the peak, the streamer revealed that he didn’t enjoy streaming as it started to feel more like a job.

His announcement has sparked speculation among fans that he might be thinking about moving away from professional play since he seems willing to stream regularly. However, it’s important to note that he only mentioned Elden Ring. This is possibly due to the current hype surrounding the game. Arteezy will most likely continue competing in Dota 2 after The International concludes.
