Extraction shooter hit ARC Raiders has released its new map, Stella Montis, a frozen wasteland of forgotten relics. The new map was added after players completed an in-game event in in just a single day.
Added to the game on Nov. 14, Stella Montis is the first major map update to the game since the game’s release. However, the update wasn’t without controversy as some accused Embark Studios of failing to balance the new ARC Raiders event, and stacking the deck when they realised their mistake
ARC Raiders’ first community unlock event was added to the game on Nov. 13 but quickly the event racked up almost all the basic resources needed to complete the event just hours after it started. With players eager for the unlock, Embark Studios made the controversial decision to artificially prolong the event, requiring more resources.
However, even so, with the amount of Fabric and Plastic that players had on hand, they were easily able to fill the required amounts and unlock the new map less than a day later.

Now players are crawling over Stella Montis, finding its caches and discovering the secrets spread across this icy wreck.
One key new introduction is the new Matriarch enemy. The newest member of the robotic Arc foes, the Matriarch is a terrifying giant robot that’s wreaking havoc on Raiders. Still, it’s been just a few hours, so we’re sure dedicated raiders will be able to consistently best the Matriarch soon.
Arc Raiders is gearing up for a critical weekend of play. With genre-rival Escape from Tarkov heading to Steam this Saturday, at a price point almost identical to ARC Raiders, there’s a face-off coming. But it remains to be seen if ARC Raiders, one of the most popular games on Streaming platforms right now, can be toppled.
