Apex Legends E-District POIs: A neon city inspired by Shibuya

district 3

The newest Apex Legends map E-District has been revealed, and its fascinating POIs may save the game after its unpopular battle pass changes.

Apex Legends Season 22, known as Shockwave, includes a new map that has been leaked for a few months. Players knew the map would feature an electrifying cityscape but confirmed details were still unknown. But even with that little information, fans of the game felt that developers had finally given players what they wanted. The new venue will be a dense city map that starkly contrasts with all the previous maps in the game.

Now the map has been officially revealed, and it’s the largest and most exciting map yet.

What is E-District in Apex Legends?

E-District is the newest map coming to Apex Legends. It features the largest variety of buildings yet, including neon sign-riddled empty city centers, makeshift communities in abandoned stadiums, boats turned into arcades, and vibrant food markets.

According to world director Eduardo Agostini, E-District has a lot of lore details and interesting gameplay opportunities crammed inside. E-District will provide players with a wide range of strategy options and intense gunplay. This includes tight quarters for close combat in alleys and inside buildings as well as plenty of rooftops for snipers to get good views from. In some of the more dense POIs, Agostini said skirmishes on E-District may feel like a game of “cat and mouse.”

The new gimmick in E-District are the jump pads called gravity cannons. This feature allows teams to reach the top of skyscrapers and move faster when the game calls for rotation. With more access to rooftops, Agostini explained that E-District is the largest map yet in terms of the amount of space players have to move around. The increased playable areas are thanks to the extreme verticality in E-District, offering a multilayered design.

E-District was once a thriving city until a massive storm shut off the power to the bustling community. This led to a massive upheaval, with citizens striking and demanding their fair share of power. Eventually, E-District had to be evacuated, and it was chosen as the next site for the Apex Games. Developers have put plenty of posters, billboards, and other easter eggs inside that will create a detailed story of the abandoned city.
