For those who can’t get enough of the newest League of Legends champion, Ambessa is getting her own official book.
Debuting in the hit television show Arcane in 2022, Ambessa Medarda has gone from original character to full champion. Riot has been celebrating her introduction to League with a base skin and a legendary skin from an entirely new line called Chosen of the Wolf. However, the brand new champion is about to make history by starring in the second official League of Legends novel ever written.
Here’s what’s currently known about the Ambessa Medarda book, along with more information about the author and release date.
The new Ambessa book will be an Arcane prequel from before the champion rose to the Noxian throne, but after becoming a seasoned warrior.
The full name of the new League novel is Ambessa: Chosen of the Wolf and is confirmed to take place in the Arcane universe. To become the ruler of the Noxian Empire, Ambessa Medarda must become the head of her own clan amidst a slew of familial betrayals. Some, it seems, know too much about the sins of her past. Her daughter and fellow Arcane character Mel is the only one who is truly on her side, even if Ambessa thinks she isn’t bloodthirsty enough.
Yet whether in Arcane, League, or her new book, Ambessa has never been one to back down from a challenge. On the contrary, she’s willing to sacrifice the world so that she can rule as much of it as she can.
Ambessa Medarda book author C. L. Clark is an American science fiction and fantasy author with several titles under her belt.
Clark has two full-length novels currently published as part of The Magic of the Lost trilogy. The first, Unbroken, was a finalist for several awards including the 2021 Nebula Award for Best Novel. Orbit Books has published both of Clark’s full-length works and is the same publisher responsible for Ambessa. Much of Clark’s other work is short fiction that focuses on queer and black themes through speculative fiction.
Ambessa: Chosen of the Wolf has a release date of February 18, 2025. Fans can preorder the new book from major book retailers such as Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and more. Hardcover copies of the books will cost $30 while paperbacks are listed at $20 and ebooks at $10. More details about the Ambessa Medarda book are likely to follow in the coming months.
