Like every competitive game, Riot Games’ Valorant has players aim to win matches to climb the ranks and establish themselves as the best. However, grinding to the peak of the Valorant rank ladder is a daunting task. Many struggle to make it past the many ranks that come before it. However, knowing the rank order can make climbing Valorant’s rank ladder more manageable. After all, reaching the destination is easier when the traveler knows how long the journey will be and the milestones they must pass.
Here are all the ranks in Valorant along with what rank the community considers to be good at the game.
While Valorant has a total of nine ranks, eight of those ranks have three tiers players must conquer before reaching the proceeding rank.
Below is the complete Valorant rank order from lowest to highest, and the many tiers in every rank.
Games like Overwatch 2 and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege have rank tiers that count backward. This means a Silver I in Overwatch 2 is ranked higher than a Silver 3, while the opposite is true for Valorant. The highest Valorant rank, Radiant, is the only rank without multiple tiers.
Anywhere above Gold 3 is considered good by a majority of the Valorant player base, as it showcases great skill and game sense from the player.
While Radiant is the highest Valorant rank, most players stay stranded between Silver and Platinum. Players under Gold are considered bad or newcomers by those in higher ranks.
With that said, a low rank doesn’t necessarily mean the player’s bad, just as a high rank doesn’t mean the player’s good. Factors like smurfing, internet, hardware capability, and the quality of teammates and enemies contribute toward a player’s rank. Additionally, many players with excellent skills don’t like playing competitively and opt to play unrated or swiftplay, leaving them with a low rank.
