Fortnite’s next season is going to be jam-packed with Marvel skins and weapons.
Disney’s fan event, D23, had an entire presentation dedicated to Fortnite. That’s because Chapter 5 Season 4 is going to be all about Marvel. Called Absolute Doom, there will be a Marvel battle pass filled with hero skins and other cosmetics. There will also be new weapons inspired by Marvel comics.
Here are the weapons coming in Absolute Doom that Fortnite fans are already worried will be overpowered .
During the trailer revealed at D23, Fortnite fans were given their first glimpse at the weapons coming to Season 4 representing Marvel heroes and villains. Here are all the confirmed new weapons coming in the new season.
Also spotted in the trailer is the return of a familiar weapon, the Stark Industries Energy Rifle.
Captain America’s Shield will be a defensive item that protects players from incoming fire. It can also be used to ram into enemies or be thrown at them from a distance to damage multiple opponents.
The Dual SMGs deal a lot of damage close range, making these guns ideal for aggressively chasing down unexpecting enemies. As for Fortnite’s new Marvel weapons, Black Panther’s Claws are for melee attacks, perfect for using when players find themselves up close to enemies in confined spaces. Meanwhile, Iron Man’s Repulsor will let the player wearing them fly while firing energy beams from their hands and chest.
Doctor Doom’s mythic, the Arcane Gauntlet, lets players throw energy beams from their hands, dealing a ton of damage and destroying the environment around the enemy. This is the perfect weapon for exposing hiding enemies and not allowing enemies to get away.
While the majority of weapons had fans excited for a new meta and fun game-changing ways to deal damage, Fortnite players have already expressed concerns over the two mythics. In the past, mythic weapons have been described as overpowered by the community. On the other hand, some Fortnite gamers rolled their eyes claiming that the Marvel mythic weapons are going to be nerfed until they’re not fun due to people complaining about how they’re too OP.
For now, only time will tell if these weapons will actually be too powerful.
