All the maps and modes confirmed for Valorant on consoles

Valorant on console won’t include every map in the game, and certain popular game modes won’t be available either.

Valorant’s console release is right around the corner, and the 8.11 patch notes included console notes for the first time. There are plenty of changes that impact both versions of the game, like agent updates. However, the most recent patch notes included information about what will and won’t be available for console Valorant.

Unfortunately, console Valorant players will have to wait a bit before getting all the maps and game modes.

What Valorant maps will be available on console?

When Valorant releases on consoles, there will only be four maps in rotation in Abyss, Ascent, Bind, and Haven for most game modes.

Riot confirmed this release map pool through its official social media channels. Despite only having four maps in rotation for most modes on release, players won’t have to wait long for more. A new map will be added with each update. However, there’s no news about what order these maps will come. Patches in Valorant happen roughly every two weeks. The missing maps are Split, Breeze, Fracture, Icebox, Lotus, Pearl, and Sunset.

The good news is that the newest map, Abyss, will be available. Players can experience the thrill of a no-boundary map whether they’re on PC or the limited beta on console. Team Deathmatch maps will also be available right from the start.

What game modes will be on Valorant console?

On release, Valorant console players can play unrated, swift play, team deathmatch, deathmatch, and custom games.

Not only does this leave out ranked games, but several permanent modes are also mysteriously absent. While ranked is planned to be released with Patch 9.0, there’s no news on other game modes like spike rush and escalation.

Valorant introduces special game modes occasionally, and there’s no news about those coming to console. Luckily, modes and maps are all that players have to worry about missing with console Valorant. With cross-progression and a full roster of agents, nearly all of Valorant’s content will be available when it is released on console.
