Ahead of his long-awaited reappearance in Arcane Season 2, here’s every stylishly suave Ekko skin in League of Legends.
Ekko first came onto the LoL scene back in 2015 and can play both jungle or mid-lane, though his burst damage leaves him better suited to the former. Ultimately, players use him as a high-skill assassin and mage. Fans of the show Arcane may recognize his original and Firelight skins, going from Act One to Act Three.
Riot has released 12 Ekko skins over the years, and each one shows his epic and brilliant personality.
Despite his later game debut, Ekko has eight available skins, which is as many as some champions who have been around since 2009. Let’s go Little Man.
Release date: May 27, 2015
Cost: 880 RP
The original Ekko grew up on the streets of Zaun and taught himself how to manipulate time using his own invention, the Zero Drive. He’s more than willing to chronobreak his own perfectly woven timeline to save his friends. A child prodigy if Zaun ever saw one.
Release date: May 27, 2015
Cost: 975 RP
Released at the same time as the original Ekko skin, Sandstorm Ekko is a treasure hunter in an ancient Egyptian-based universe. Time travel may be a bit of a deus ex machina to getting around traps, but who’s counting? The Guardians of the Sands, probably. And the frighteningly powerful Pharaoh.
Release date: August 26, 2015
Cost: 750 RP
A young prodigy still has to go to school. In the Academy universe, Ekko is a brilliant student who just can’t keep his nose clean. Disciplinary charges include illegal use of chemistry equipment and electronics, vandalism, and making multiple timelines to skip class. Normal kid stuff.
Release date: August 1, 2016
Cost: 1,350 RP
Ekko is as rebellious as anyone would expect from a kid who taught himself how to manipulate the time stream. Originally a hacker, Ashe brought him on board to take down PROJECT. All he has to do is plug his z-drive into their system and shut it down. Give Eko a decrypter and his natural tendency towards disruption, and no problem.
Release date: November 10, 2019
Cost: 1,820 RP
When not on the streets of Zaun, Ekko is also a member of the True Damage crew headed by Akali. Though he could have used his skill and newfound fame to leave, he decided to stay and uplift his community with him. True Damage Ekko boasts being five steps ahead when it comes to hip-hop music, but when is he not ahead of everyone else?
Release date: May 14, 2020
Cost: 1,350 RP
In a dystopian future full of chrono-technology, Ekko has still managed to time travel to where he didn’t belong and rework tech for a new skin. His own modified chronobreak allows him to create whole little pockets of time and collapse them into one event. This should work fine, so long as the cop-esque Rememberancers don’t catch him.
Release date: February 17, 2022
Cost: 1,350 RP
This is the Ekko skin that most Arcane fans will recognize. He worked in-universe with other oppressed Zaunite kids to form the Firelights, seek a safe haven, and sabatoge Shimmer shipments in the underworld. Firelight Ekko is also an official Arcane skin, of which only some champions featured in the show have.
Release date: July 14, 2022
Cost: 1,350 RP
Ekko is one of the latest additions to the Star Guardian universe, where champions attend high school by day and save the cosmos by night. Rather than tech, Ekko received his time-bending powers from the First Star and uses them to protect Valoran City.
Ekko’s vaulted skins are either considered to be generally unavailable or only open during holiday events. Which one is up to Riot’s discretion.
Release date: June 27, 2017
Cost: 1,350 RP
After winning the 2016 World Championship, SKT T1 player Lee “Duke” Ho-seong chose Ekko to receive a commemorative skin. In-game, his recall animation shows Duke’s signature. The player also mained Ekko during the Championship itself.
Release date: October 24, 2018
Cost: 1,350 RP
Trick-or-Treat Ekko was released during The Harrowing in 2018 but is a little more whimsical than some of the other skins in that line. After all, he’s just a kid going trick or treading on Halloween. Okay, maybe a kid with an extra stomach ache from bending reality to get more candy.
Ekko has two rare skins, available as part of the mythic shop rotation after their original release. Notably, Ekko is one of only 50 champions to get a Prestige skin.
Release date: July 14, 2022
Cost: 125 ME
The only thing Prestige Star Guardian Ekko is more serious about than defending Valoran City is fashion. He was definitely voted best dressed in high school.
Release date: November 8, 2023
Cost: Breakout 2023 capsules
In addition to his regular True Damage skin, Ekko also received a later Breakout skin. His design is said to be inspired by both Miles Morales from Into the Spider-Verse and superhero Static Shock. Ekko certainly is a hero to all the kids growing up in Zaun, showing them everything they can be.
Ekko is confirmed to be in Arcane season 2, both from official promo materials and episode leaks. Hopefully, the tech kid from Zaun will continue to make everyone proud.
