Just like the previous Counter-Strike games, CS2 has plenty of maps available across all of its game modes: Premier, Competitive, Casual, Deathmatch, Retakes, Wingman, and Arms Race.
The map pool can vary from one mode to another, as there are maps that are tailored for more serious, competitive play, and other maps are built for a more casual, laid-back environment.
Without further ado, here are all the maps available in CS2 at the moment.
Premier is the ultimate destination for players who wish to venture into ranked play, as the map pool is exactly the same used in professional tournaments. Players are given a Rating after winning 10 Premier matches, and before each game starts, there’s a veto phase.
As for Competitive, this mode resembles the old matchmaking system of CS:GO. Players select which maps they want to queue for, and they get a different CS2 rank for each map, varying from the Silver ranks all the way to Global Elite. And, there are more maps available in Competitive than Premier.
Here are all the current maps in CS2 Premier:
All of the maps above are available in Competitive too, alongside these:
Wingman follows the same logic as Competitive, but instead of being 5v5, it’s a 2v2 mode in which maps are cut in half, and there’s only one bombsite active. Honestly, it’s a fun mode when you just have one friend to play with.
These are the current maps available in Premier:
Casual is a bomb-defusal mode like Premier and Competitive (for the most part), but servers allow up to 10 players per team instead of just five. And, as the name hints, it’s casual play, so you don’t win/lose elo.
The maps in Casual are scattered across four queues:
Defusal Group Alpha:
Defusal Group Delta
Community Map Group
Hostage Group:
Deathmatch or simply DM is a fast-paced game in which players are distributed across the T and CT sides, but without the bomb defusal theme. Instead, you try to kill as many players as you can, and you are reborn right after someone kills you. It’s great for warming up for Premier and Competitive.
The maps in Deathmatch are exactly the same ones in Casual, so:
Defusal Group Alpha:
Defusal Group Delta
Community Map Group
Hostage Group:
Arms Race is similar to Deathmatch in the sense that there’s no goal other than killing opponents in the enemy team. You also respawn everytime someone kills you.
The difference between Arms Race and DM is that your goal is you play with a new weapon every time you get two kills or knife someone. This way, you’ll be playing with practically all weapons until you get the knife. The winner is the first person to get a knife kill with the golden knife.
This is the map pool for Arms Race:
On top of Deathmatch, Retakes is also a great way to arm up your aim. The players are split across the CT and T sides, and the bomb is planted at the start of every round. The goal for the CT team is to defuse the bomb, while the Ts have to defend the bombsite. The game starts with pistols, then it changes to SMGs, until players get the rifles and the AWP.
There are two separate queues for Retakes:
Defusal Group Alpha:
Defusal Group Delta
