The FGO takes Dubai! summer event is always a huge deal in Fate/Grand Order, and 2024 is no different.
The new event released alongside today’s presentation, “BB Presents ~ Celeb Summer Experience ~ Dubai Strikes Back,” updated to the JP servers August 14, 2024, and runs until October 2, releasing in three parts over two months. It also directly ties into the next main story release on August 28.
If the duration of the event and overlap with the third chapter of the Ordeal Call storyline wasn’t already enough, the event comes with six new summonable characters, with the newly-revealed 5-star being of particular note.
Summer BB is back for the newest FGO event, and she’s probably a different character altogether.
“BB Presents” is back, and so is its fabulous and sadistic host BB. Maybe. While BB is certainly a popular character, there are two pieces of evidence that this is probably an imposter. First, BB already has a summer form, making her the first character to receive two summer forms. Second, and most importantly, the yellow ribbon. BB doesn’t wear yellow ribbons but another character, Kazuradrop, does.
In the Fate franchise, Kazuradrop first appeared in Fate/Extra CCC Fox Tail as the primary antagonist. After being split from the original BB, Kazuradrop decides that she is going to eat her progenitor and manages to consume 7/8ths of the original BB. In Fox Tail, Kazuradrop goes as far as to create and operate a fake BB- that, along with BB Lily appearing in the event, makes it likely that Kazuradrop is pulling the strings of this summer event.
Although the first batch of summer event servants revealed at FGO Fes 2024 are available to summon, the second banner that would likely feature Kazuradrop is still a ways away. While the wait to add another one of BB’s alter egos to the collection continues, let’s see what other servants are coming this summer.
Kazuradrop isn’t the only servant of interest this summer. This year’s lineup includes a crossover character, a long-awaited goddess of the underworld, and more.
The FGO developers have also kept the identity of the 4-star welfare servant under wraps, and given the length of the summer event, it may be a while before that happens.
Kazuradrop and the other servants aside, the third chapter of Ordeal Call tied to the summer event will only be available for a limited time, so players who want to experience that chapter of the main story need to keep up with the event and complete the main story through the Ordeal Call prologue.
