As Akai Haato debuts new model, fans claim Amelia Watson return

Hololive’s Akai Haato revealed her new look and fans are finding the vtuber’s new model reminiscent of the graduated Amelia Watson.

Hololive JP’s Akai Haaton isn’t a new name and the popular vtuber is commonly referred to as her alter-ego, Haachama. The vtuber’s two distinct personalities are interesting as they potentially separate Akai Haato into two different beings. But something that’s common between both of the vtuber’s personalities is their general love for spiders.

Akai Haato is infamous for debuting spider-themed models and the vtuber’s new model is no different. Her latest model is heavily inspired by her previous version, but something about her new look has fans saying she looks like a returning Amelia Watson.

Akai Haato’s new model reminds of ex-Hololive Amelia Watson

On June 2, Akai Haato debuted a new model in a YouTube livestream and fans couldn’t help but compare the vtuber to Hololive’s detective Amelia Watson.

Akai Haato’s stream wasn’t a traditional model revealing one as the vtuber spent a significant amount of time talking about other things. She started off talking about streaming and revealed the Haachama Cooking theme song. Eventually, Akai Haato was ready to show off her new look to her many excited fans.

The vtuber’s new model is strikingly similar to the previous one she debuted at the end of 2024. The outfits have minor changes, but most viewers won’t notice anything notably different. For instance, one of the new outfits combines the sleeves and dress from an older outfit to change the vtuber’s look. She showed off multiple combinations, but the use of black and white was a constant in all variations.

The major change in the new model is the vtuber’s hairstyle. Akai Haato has deviated from messy hair that hid one of her eyes to a cleaner cut. The vtuber also uses hair accessories like bows and a spider headpiece on her hair. Fans instantly started to compare Akai Haato to Amelia Watson after seeing the vtuber’s new look. Some claimed they had to reread the vtuber’s name to confirm it isn’t in fact Amelia Watson returning.

Akai Haato also displayed some of the accessories that came with her new model. The first was a white eye patch that had a black heart in the center. The eye patch isn’t new and was also seen in the vtuber’s previous model. Akai Haato can wear the eye patch on one eye or both eyes, depending on preference. The vtuber also introduced glasses, which were the most loved aspect of the vtuber’s new model. Viewers claimed the glasses give the vtuber a distinct look and expressed their love for her new model.
