Valorant is always teasing upcoming Agents, and a new video for Episode 9: Act 2 included several teases about Agent 26.
While console players are finally enjoying Valorant, PC players are getting hyped for the release of the next agent, Agent 26. Valorant generally releases Agents like clockwork, and it’s approaching time for Agent 26 to be discussed. The Abyss map trailer had some heavy teasers for the upcoming Agent. Additionally, older videos and a promotional image for the act seem to be teasing the same thing.
There’s already a lot of information about Agent 26 available using the information from these teasers and Valorant’s history.
The Episode 9 Act 2 trailer teased Agent 26’s abilities that involve some kind of thorns, possibly entrapping enemies or creating ladders on walls.
At the end of the trailer, vines are running above and below the ground, passing bullet casings and Jett’s knife on the ground. This is more than likely a tease about the upcoming Valorant Agent. Each Agent in Valorant has unique kits, and Agent 26 looks to be centered around vines. Since Skye already has animals, Agent 26 could center around plant life in general.
The Reckoning cinematic supports this idea as well. In the video, a flower flashes on the screen while Omen is ripped apart. Considering Omen and Agent 26 are connected by the lore talked about in that video, this could be another hint. It’s not uncommon for some of the Valorant Agents to be similar to League of Legends champions. Neon and Zeri are a perfect example, as developers created them alongside each other. League of Legends has a champion centered around vines and flowers in Zyra. The similarities in their vines and the potential for flowers are uncanny at best.
As for their role, Agent 26 will more than likely be a although there’s some potential for them to be an initiator. The ability to fend off enemies, like a vine that roots, fits both roles. There are less sentinels in the game than any other role, and Valorant isn’t super strict about what order they release characters in.
Agent 26 was first shown off at the end of the Reckoning cinematic held in the same place that Omen was infiltrating to get answers about his past.
Omen’s past has always been a mystery in the Valorant community. Developers have been teasing what or who Omen is in the battle pass and through voice lines for years. The Reckoning cinematic was the first to center around Omen’s past while simultaneously showing off the Outlaw.
At the end of the trailer, stray bullets hit some kind of holding cell, and there’s a shot of the character inside gripping their clawed fingers. The Episode 9: Act 1 Trailer, The Future’s Ready, explores Abyss while Omen is looking for answers yet again.
At the end of the trailer, what is presumably Agent 26 is controlling the vines on the floor. Then, a promotional picture for the new Episode, Collision, shows a clawed hand above the holding area from the Reckoning trailer. This time, the surrounding of the holding area is breaking down.
Both cinematics that have heavily delved into Omen’s history have teased Agent 26, so it’s easy to say that the two will be related. Perhaps Agent 26 has answers for Omen’s history with the people in the Reckoning cinematic.
Looking at historical release patterns, the release date of Agent 26 will more than likely be during Episode 9 Act 2. This will be around the end of August 2024 or early September 2024.
Valorant has been very systematic with how it releases content. For the most part, Valorant releases Agents in Act 2 of every Episode. Valorant doesn’t confirm release dates too far in advance. However, Acts are generally two months long. Considering Episode 9 Act 1 starts on June 25, 2024, Act 2 will start at the end of August or the beginning of September.
