Vtuber fans have been waiting impatiently for the debut of the independent vtuber Dooby, and her debut has reminded fans of another massive star.
When Hololive’s icon Amelia Watson announced her graduation, fans were overwhelmed as she was one of the most popular names in the scene. However, rumors started that she’d join Hololive staff, but the vtuber debunked them. Amelia stated she’d remain an affiliate of Hololive but hinted at a return. A new vtuber Dooby3D, had done unlisted test streams during which fans heard her voice. Hopeful fans noticed she sounded like Amelia Watson. Some fans researched and linked things to conclude that Dooby is Amelia Watson.
Now, the independent vtuber Dooby has finally debuted, and fans want to know whether she really is Amelia Watson.
Dooby’s debut stream showed the lore of how a mouse turned into an independent female vtuber.
The stream starts off on a train with a small green creature talking about how it’s tired of operating the whole thing and dropping off the passengers daily. It continues and says that they can keep the cursed uniform. It says they can work would while the creature can play until the contract is up.
Then the creature shoots something bright into the sky. The bright light is surrounded by stars and hits a mouse. The mouse then turns into a woman who runs scared until she finds the train and enters it. She is grabbed by a hand and pulled into a closet where everything is downloaded onto her brain. The mouse-turned-human exits as the vtuber Dooby.
While not 100% confirmed, fans are very confident that Dooby is the same actor as Amelia Watson.
Dooby confirms nothing about her being the star Hololive vtuber’s return. However, fans have found hints in the debut stream that have led them to believe Amelia Watson has returned. The first thing the fans noticed was the gremlin sounds Dooby made while streaming. The sounds were nostalgic for fans as Amelia used to make the same sounds.
In addition, the vtuber mentioned that she worked on an Emmy-winning show Wizards of Oz but didn’t get an award. This led fans to believe that Amelia debuted as Dooby because she wanted to be credited for her work. While the vtuber was at Hololive, all her work was credited to Amelia Watson.
Finally, every time someone tried to guess Dooby’s previous identity, the comments were deleted. So even though there is nothing concrete about Dooby being Amelia, fans have found enough evidence to continue their belief.
