Twitch has unexpectedly unbanned controversial streamer Adin Ross from the platform after he was hit with an indefinite suspension two years ago.
Adin Ross is known for his controversial content and was banned from Twitch eight times while streaming there. His eighth and final ban was for “hateful conduct” that resulted from his displaying unmoderated chat messages on stream. The ban was indefinite and the streamer has since repeatedly tried to get himself unbanned, but has been unsuccessful. Until now.
After his Twitch ban, Adin Ross moved to Kick and earned himself a large and loyal following there. His content was arguably still controversial and he even ventured into political content as he continued to make a name for himself. Now Twitch has unbanned him after two years, and fans are curious whether he’ll leave Kick as a result.
After Twitch unbanned Adin Ross from the platform, his followers have been reset to zero and fans will need to follow him again.
Twitch has unbanned Adin Ross much to the delight of his fans, but with a small caveat. The streamer’s channel displays a low number of followers because the platform reset the count when it unbanned him. This means his fans will need to follow him again. Those who don’t will risk not being notified about any future content he will stream on the platform.
Adin Ross’ unban was surprising for fans as the streamer has tried to apologize to the platform in the past, but his suspension wasn’t lifted. The content creator was likely unbanned from Twitch because of the platform’s new rules. The new enforcement system in part aims to reduce permanent bans, with serious violations expiring in one to two years.
Adin Ross hasn’t issued a statement about his Twitch unban so it’s unclear whether the streamer will multistream his content or only use one platform.
It’s unlikely Adin Ross will exclusively move back to Twitch because he now has a massive following on Kick and will need to rebuild his followers on Twitch. Adin Ross has mentioned his plans of wanting to stream on Twitch if he were to be unbanned. It’s likely the streamer will multistream his content on both Twitch and Kick.
Adin Ross has been one of Kick’s top streamers but he has had differences with the platform’s CEO. This even led to him previously stating that he planned to leave Kick. The streamer claimed at the time that he would return to Twitch, but his ban wasn’t lifted and he continued to stream on Kick. Adin is reportedly getting paid a significantly large amount of money to stream on Kick. This is another reason why it’s unlikely he’ll jump ship and switch to streaming on Twitch exclusively.
