The controversial streamer Adin Ross exits Kick and plans for a Twitch return.
Adin Ross is one of the most divisive figures in the streaming world. Many have criticized the streamer for cultivating a culture of toxicity in the space, such as bigotry towards minority communities. These actions have landed Adin Ross in hot water more than once. The most major incident resulted in a permanent ban from the Twitch platform in February 2023. The streamer had stirred the pot by broadcasting his Kick chatroom, which featured countless racist and homophobic slurs.
For the past month, reports have emerged about Adin Ross leaving Kick Twitch or Rumble. Initially, reports suggested a move to Rumble, where Dr Disrespect currently resides. The streamer did not give concrete answers until very recently. Adin Ross’s latest tweet sheds some light on the streamer’s plans for the foreseeable future.
The streamer officially announced on X that is done streaming on Kick and informed fans about his plans for a potential return on Twitch. On December 8, 2024, Adin Ross made a post in his X community confirming what fans had been gossiping about for a while. Adin officially announced that he left Kick. The streamer stated that he’ll make a video elaborating on his reason for leaving the platform soon. Adin also stated his intentions for his streams going forward. Most interestingly for fans, the streamer claimed he would try to get reinstated on Twitch.
Adin began streaming regularly on Kick after the permanent Twitch ban. Rumors started circulating that he was leaving Kick, starting when Kick’s CEO Edward “Eddie” Craven unfollowed the streamer. After the information went viral, Eddie followed Adin again, though the damage was done. Fans started speculating that Adin was done with Kick and would move to another platform. There was no official confirmation and Eddie even stated that he wanted things to work out with Adin. The latest tweet from the streamer confirmed fan suspicions.
Adin wants to return to Twitch despite the extreme circumstances of his exit. Twitch CEO Dan Clancy has stated that Adin can return if he displays that he has changed, meaning the streamer has a chance. If Adin Ross rejoins Twitch, it may spark controversy for the platform again. Many online have criticized Dan Clancy in the past for allegedly pushing antisemitic rhetoric on the Twitch platform. These problems allegedly resulted in the loss of big advertisers such as AT&T and Dunkin’ Donuts.
Wherever Adin Ross goes, controversy is sure to follow.
