We asked
What's a gaming moment that you'll never forget?
Getting my first PlayStation. It was 2003, way past the PS1’s prime, but we couldn’t afford the PS2 then. Still, when I booted it up for the first time, it felt like a dream. That startup sound is burned into my memory.
What's the one piece of gaming hardware you can't live without?
My PC. PlayStation started it all for me, but the PC took things further, mods, online games, emulation, and since I’m writing now, it’s more than just gaming.
What led you to a career in gaming journalism?
The pandemic. I never planned on writing, but when the pandemic limited my opportunities, I started putting my love for games into words. It stuck. Now, I can’t imagine doing anything else.
What's your go-to comfort game after a long day?
Red Dead Redemption 2. Sometimes I just ride my horse around and do nothing. The world’s so calming, it feels like therapy after a long day.
Who is your favorite video game character of all time?
Kratos. I liked him before, but the newer God of War games made me appreciate him even more, more human, more vulnerable. Watching him grow into a father figure hit hard.
