A Plague Tale: Requiem’s has a release date alongside 10-minute trailer

  • A Plague Tale: Requiem released a new 10-minute trailer.
  • We catch a glimpse of the newest stealth game coming soon.
  • Alongside the trailer was a release date this October.

Today, Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment have released a new gameplay trailer for A Plague Tale: Requiem alongside the release date.

The trailer sees the game’s heroes, Amicia and Hugo, making their way through a quarry littered with soldiers who are keen to track them down.

The showcase kicks off with a kind man refusing to hand Amicia and Hugo over to the soldiers, leading them to a quarry where they can attempt to escape.

After entering a cave, Hugo reveals he’s able to tap into a blood-based second sight to help pinpoint enemy locations. Yes, that’s the usual “being able to see through walls” schtick that stealth games love.

It then moves on to the usual sneaking, with Amicia throwing various objects to distract the soldiers.

Of course, it’s not always going to be possible to avoid everyone. So, when it comes to taking out soldiers, Amica has multiple options.

She can sneak up on them and stab, take them out from afar with her crossbow or use her slingshot in a variety of ways, including tossing a flaming stone into an oil slick to set nearby soldiers ablaze.

Rats…so many rats

Eventually, the pair are spotted, and with Amicia struggling with her wounds, Hugo has to step up.

His solution? To take control of a massive horde of rats, of course.

The vermin run about the map devouring any unfortunate soul who stands in their way.

At the end of the trailer, Hugo collapses. and his former compatriots charge toward them in alarming numbers. Truly, that many rats on screen at once? It’s both impressive and horrifying.

A Plague Tale: Requiem release date

Alongside the trailer, A Plague Tale: Requiem’s release date was also confirmed.

The game will launch on October 18 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, S, PC, and via the Cloud version on Nintendo Switch. Any Xbox Game Pass subscribers out there can play on launch as part of their membership.

If you’re a huge fan of the first game, you might be interested in the Collector’s Edition of A Plague Tale: Requiem.

It boasts a 21cm tall resin statuette of Amicia and Hugo. Alongside this centerpiece, the collection also includes Hugo’s Feather Brooch, a vinyl of the game’s soundtrack, three A4 lithographs, and, naturally, A Plague Tale: Requiem itself.
