According to confirmed reports, A One Man Army will not participate in Elite Series as members of the team allegedly met a tragic accident.
The news comes from Nieuwsblad, a mainstream Belgian media website that reported the accident on the E34 highway. According to the website, emergency services rescued all four passengers in the car at 11:30 am near Wechelderzande, Belgium. A One Man Army has not made a public announcement on social media regarding the accident yet.
This accident spells terrible news for Elite Series, assuming the reports are accurate. A One Man Army was positioned as one of the best teams in the Benelux region arriving into the Summer Split. The team featured famous mid laner Gurjot “Nan0” Singh and top laner Luke “FatShield” Eising. It’s not known which members of the team sustained significant injuries.
A One Man Army’s official statement confirms that the team will no longer compete in Elite Series.
Unconfirmed sources state that the hospital admitted at least one player with significant injuries, who may still be in a coma. The crash caused the others to sustain more minor injuries, but they are being kept under observation as well. Nothing is confirmed yet about which players were riding in the car and who was in critical condition.
Players in the crash won’t recover soon from their injuries, so signing up new members would have been the only way to participate in the esports event. Rescheduling matches won’t be a possibility either, as many members of the team are still under medical care.
A One Man Army team met a terrible accident on their way to the Elite Series media day on May 27, 2024.
Unconfirmed reports suggest the car moved away from its course, causing an unavoidable collision with a bus. The bus impacted the team’s car on the side, turning it sideways. Another report suggests that the bus driver is unharmed, and the crash did not involve any other vehicles.
The impact damaged the doors, and some players remained inside the car until firefighters came to their rescue. Understandably, the statement does not specify which players received which injuries. For now, the organization has requested fans to support the players during medical recovery.
