100 Thieves have finally completed their roster, bringing in three young talents from tier-two alongside three legends of the game: Havard “rain” Nygaard, Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander, and, most recently, Nicolai “device” Reedtz.
The European squad have no VRS points, so they’ll have to battle hard in the next few months in online qualifiers and smaller LANs to earn invites to upcoming CS2 events in the latter part of 2026.
But will they be good enough to break through into the tier-one space?

Since December, rumours had been circling that device was to leave Astralis and join the new 100 Thieves project. Virtually everyone knew the move was happening, so the announcement wasn’t much of a shock.
While the Dane does bring a ton of experience into the lineup, he hasn’t been performing up to his high standards for a long time now. It’s no secret that using the AWP in CS2 is more difficult than in CS:GO, but he has to level up his game if this team is to do anything of note.
Maybe a change of scenery will do a lot of good for device. There have been talks about the Astralis team dynamics and how it wasn’t exactly the best playing environment in the world.
Another fun aspect of this move is the reunion between device and gla1ve. The latter will be coaching the team, debuting in a new role following his retirement. Maybe the GOAT in-game leader knows exactly how to unlock the device of old.

Many people thought 100 Thieves would choose to buy out an existing core from a decent team to retain VRS points. While that would be a smart move, 100T opted to build a team from scratch.
Doing so, they brought in three young talents to fill their ranks: André “Ag1l” Gil from SAW, William “sirah” Kjærsgaard from ECSTATIC, and Alex “poiii” Nyholm Sundgren from Alliance.
All three impressed in their own right on their previous teams. Ag1l is the most experienced of the three, having attended several tier-one tournaments during his time with SAW.
The two Nordic youngsters, sirah and poiii, will be expected to be the main fragging duo of this team. Especially considering rain’s transition to the IGL role, and device not hitting as hard as he used to in his prime.
In any case, they will have a lot of time to work on their game. The 100T Head of CS Operations, Graham “messioso” Pitt, stated on X that they will most likely debut their new squad sometime in February.
